HALFWAY HOUSE is our secondary care facility, providing a protected environment for residents whilst they re-integrate into society.
Decades of international research has shown that the longer the period of time invested into addiction treatment, the more positive the prognosis for sustained recovery. In order to facilitate those residents who have graduated from our Primary Care facility but wish to extend their stay in a therapeutic setting, SCRC offers residency in our stand-alone Halfway House (HWH). The objective of our HWH is to provide a safe and controlled living environment, whilst residents re-integrate themselves back into society. HWH also reduces the stress and responsibility placed on our residents' families, during this critical phase of recovery. Under the guidance of our staff and an on-site HWH manager, residents at HWH have the opportunity to take more personal responsibility for themselves and focus on forward progress in all areas of their lives. Whilst at HWH, residents may pursue their studies, volunteer at SCRC or secure external employment, whilst still benefiting from the structure of a recovery-orientated facility.
HWH offers the following advantages for our residents:
House rules, Routine, Support groups, Peer support, Continued ongoing counselling, Regular drug-testing, Financial management, Medical support, Security, Assistance with pursuing studies or employment.
